Get Involved

 

 SNUG has been going since 2001 and is run entirely by volunteers. We always need more help and support and are particularly keen to involve some younger people.

Amongst other things, our volunteers value: 

• A sense of achievement through making positive changes to our local area
• Improving the local environment 
• Having a say in how the common is managed
• Learning about plants, trees and environmental issues
• Getting to know other people in the area 

Opportunities include:

• Tree and other planting and ongoing care
• Event organisation and running on the day
• Communications, administration, publicity (e.g. social media, website)
• Fundraising
• Networking and lobbying  
• General ad-hoc activities to run a small community organisation

 

Any contribution is welcome. For example some people just help out on our once-a-month gardening sessions, or our weekly watering during the summer. Others prefer to help organise events. All you need is an interest in looking after your local are
