Stoke Newington Common is a well used park in Hackney.

Stoke Newington Common User Group (SNUG) is local community group that looks after the common and organises local events.

 

We are always keen to have volunteers so please get involved.

Amongst other things, over the years SNUG has:

• Made the common a more environmentally diverse and welcoming community space
• Fundraised for and commissioned the first playground which opened in 2007 and helped co-design the current playground
• Planted hundreds of trees, numerous hedgerows, spring bulbs and other plants
• Lobbied for safe crossings and other local road safety measures 
• Organised numerous popular events 
• Installed table tennis 
• Organised dog training sessions
• Planted other neglected areas locally
