Knitting Group

 

SNUG's thriving knitting and crochet group, Common Thread, has been running for many years.
 
The group meets in various venues across Stoke Newington, including the Common - when the weather is right.

One of its major works was a knitted version of the Common. This was part of Hackney Museum's community exhibition about the Cazenove area, called 'Side by Side'. Creating a 3-D knitted replica of the Common, playground and all, took great ingenuity, 3-D thinking and dexterity.

Other projects include a giant snakes and ladders game, which we roll out at events; creating unique hand knitted Christmas decorations; a Xmas tree for the common and many banners.
