Knitting Group

 

SNUG's thriving knitting group, Common Thread has been going for many years.
 
The group meets in various venues across Stoke Newington, including the Common, when the weather is right.

One of its major works was a knitted version of the Common. This was part of Hackney Museum's community exhibition about the Cazenove area, called 'Side by Side'. Creating a 3-D knitted replica of the Common, playground and all, took great ingenuity, 3-D thinking and dexterity.

Other projects include a giant snakes and ladders game, which we roll out at events, and creating unique hand knitted Christmas decorations.
